The three-flat is a historic Chicago housing type, capitalized on today by builders and developers who offer cookie-cutter "open concept" apartments. This project proposes an alternative to this typical plan, with bedrooms squeezed in the back and the leftover kitchen-dining-living room up front. Instead, the corridor is eliminated in favor of a procession of rooms across the flat, allowing for spaces of different qualities and more conducive to contemporary ways of living.
